Last week, I was asked to participate in a taped radio interview dealing with allegations of Russian espionage and possible attempts to impact the 2016 Presidential Campaign. When I discovered that this interview would be taped as opposed to live, I almost canceled; I've been burned by "selective editing" before, and I didn't enjoy the experience. I eventually chose to participate in the hope that I might be able to actually explain what it means to request a FISA, and how common it has become for Judges in our day and age, to ignore established case law and become political activists. During the interview, I was asked to comment on California-based artist Karen Fiorito and the growing controversy surrounding the billboard she had painted/created. As I was unfamiliar with Fiorito, I was unable to comment, and we moved on to other subjects. The interview itself was for local consumption, and I have no guarantee that it will ever actually be broadcast. But I had committed the artists name to memory, and that evening, on the internet, I introduced myself to Karen Fiorito, her billboard, and to "The Resistance".
Fiorito is a modern-day hippy/artist from California who burst onto the scene in 2004, with a billboard accusing then-President Bush of lying to the American people, and then asking to be trusted as he ran for a second term. The current billboard in question sits overlooking downtown Phoenix, and has no written message. In the center of the billboard is President Trump, who is flanked by two large mushroom clouds. At either end of the billboard are dollar symbols, altered to also resemble swastikas. I spent a bit of time examining the image, trying to understand why Fiorito left out long lines of starving refugees and illegal immigrants. I can only assume that she felt it was time to introduce a new line of attack, but your guess is as good as mine. Its possible that Fiorito received new talking points/marching orders, which point out that the Left's focus on immigrants and refugees is about to come apart, and a new allegation/attempt to frighten people must be released. But why mushroom clouds and dollar-swastikas? Is the Left about to jump-start the "Trump is a war mongerer" narrative? Its true that Trump is determined to spend more money on National Defense and to use government resources to rebuild the Veteran's Administration, although President Trump has yet to twitter any clues as to which countries might be on his shortlist for annihilation. And what about the dollar-swastikas; is this somehow a warning that President Trump is planning to send financial aid to fascists and dictators? Probably not. Its more likely aimed at the tax issue, including the never-ending accusation that President Trump will find a way to lower taxes on the richest Americans, and transfer the burden to the poorest (you know, the poorest forty-five percent that pay no income taxes whatsoever).
I respectfully advise anyone who is interested in the Federal Budget and National Security to do a bit of research on the issue of military spending. Certain technologies advance at a head-spinning rate, and no-doubt our scientists and researchers in the military industrial complex are on the top of their game. But with the introduction of every new application and the improvement of existing hardware, upgrades must be made across-the-board. Having the world's greatest military is a tremendously expensive obligation, but an obligation that we can't afford to relinquish to China, Russia or anyone else. Realistically speaking, military spending grew stagnant under the Obama Administration. His reluctance to spend money on the military was only matched by his determination to avoid using U.S. personnel in a combat posture. Trying to unravel the Obama agenda vis-à-vis our military always brings on a huge headache, mostly related to the precipitous withdrawal of U.S. forces from Iraq, and the immediate, subsequent invasion of Iraq by ISIS. Today's blog post has a different focus, thank goodness, although trying to decipher the dollar-swastika message might just bring along a headache in its own right.
Since Hillary Clinton conceded the 2016 election to Donald Trump, the Left has done everything possible to damage the Trump Presidency. It began with a confused attempt at recounts in Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, with the result of a handful more votes for Trump-Pence. Then the media lathered itself into a frenzy over a few electoral voters who announced opposition to Trump, also a dead-end. It was about this time that the Progressive Democratic opposition got itself together, and created a plan to cripple the Trump Administration. Its marching orders were to make a mess out of Congressional Hearings for trump nominees, and to direct leftover Obama personnel in the Department of Justice and the Intelligence Agencies to create a false narrative that Trump campaign personnel were involved with Russian efforts to mess with the 2016 Presidential Campaign. The goal of this effort may be to neuter the Trump Administration, but in their heart-of-hearts, they are dreaming of, dare I say it, IMPEACHMENT. They've managed this operation well, with the media jumping through hoops to print any and all negative allegations, regardless of merit. They will fail, simply because as John Adams once said, "Facts are stubborn things". There is no evidence whatsoever that Trump personnel were involved with Russians intent on impacting the 2016 campaign. The is the end, folks, not the middle or the beginning. Now the Trump Justice Department, hopefully removed of its politically active Obama leftovers, will find out the truth about leaks from government agencies, and discover if FISAs were issued by some activist Judge to allow the wiretapping of the Trump campaign and possibly even a sitting U.S. Senator.
This group of Progressive Democrats that have declared war on the Trump Administration, are all battle-hardened veterans of the Clinton Campaign, and they understand how to make the best use of a compliant, friendly media. I've noted a handful of separate Leftist groups with catchy names, but "The Resistance" seems to be leading the pack. I came to this conclusion by checking out the Twitter accounts of the most offensive members of the entertainment and professional sports communities. All the well-known loud-mouths have aligned themselves with this group, although the more respectable, suit-wearing political activists have to be a bit more discreet, and the ones behind the scenes are the most dangerous, because they hide behind this mask of fake moderation; they are no more moderate than Alec Baldwin. Another reason why I'm keeping my eye on this group, is its unclear connection to the media. For those of us who identify as conservative, oppose big government, support the Second Amendment, demand effective border control and a strong military, stand by local and Federal Law Enforcement, expect a repeal of Obamacare and expect tax policies that encourage economic growth, we are well-aware that the media will not hesitate to manipulate the news in support of liberal political causes (with the exception of Fox News, Drudge, Rush Limbaugh, Breitbart, and a few brave others). This new billboard in Phoenix, crafted by Progressive Lefty Karen Fiorito, serves notice as to what "The Resistance" and the Democrats are going after next: support for the military/military spending, and taxes. No doubt the Trump Team will be ready. Stay tuned......

How does Obama manage to keep a fifty-two percent positive poll rsting amongst the American people?
Lately my viewer numbers have been a bit astonishing, especially since I occasionally disappear for weeks at a time. Today I would like to challenge those of you who take the time to read my blog on a regular basis. One of the few subjects which can cause me to develop a very quick case of the Guadalupe River Red-Ass, is the confusing issue of polls. Every news channel has a polling staff, and they usually team up with an established private pollster, for example, NBC teams up with the Wall Street Journal and ABC news works with the Washington Post. Poll results can be confusing and often misleading. I have noticed that pollsters directly connected to media sources have a tendency to "lead the respondent" with carefully constructed questions. Most of us like to announce within our own group of friends and family that we "never pay attention to polls", when in fact, we use them all the time to back up our own arguments. I studied polling methods as part of a Statistical Methods and Procedures course I took in college just before I got on the Mayflower and made my way over to the New World. Polling hasn't changed much, and can be as confusing as always. In 2012, all the major pollsters reported that Mitt Romney had a solid lead on Hillary Clinton; so much for that poll. Don't misunderstand- I am not advising you to ignore all the polls that will continue filling up the print media as we approach November. What I will advise you to do is focus more on the simple polls, for example the very recent Wall Sreet Journal/NBC poll that informed the world that Barrack Obama's job performance was approved by Americans at a fifty-two to forty-eight percent clip. In other words, six months before he leaves office, President Obama has a favorable approval rating. You can take all my experience, common sense (?), and college learning, and pile them up to the sky; it won't make any difference. I just don't understand how fifty-two percent of Americans believe Obama has done a good job. How is this possible?
I believe with complete confidence that Barack Obama is the worst president the United States has ever been obliged to endure (and two terms, no less!). I don't need to dig into any detailed argument, with statistics, witnesses and a long boring slide show. Obama has been a horrible president because he has been honest to his convictions. While most of America still identifies as Chistian, I believe Obama worships at the feet of modern-day European Socialism. American Exceptionalism, the key to building the greatest nation in the history of our planet, is derided by Obama. You may remember that Obama was a regular attendee at the Chicago Church of deranged, hate-filled preacher Jeremiah Wright. After the mainstream media finally decided to expose Wright and his racist preaching, The Obamas announced that their attendance was bascially just part of neighborhood tradition and solidarity, and that he denounced the hateful rhetoric that Wright preached every weekend. Herein lies the problem. The Obamas were married by Wright, he baptised the two daughters, and Obama credited Wright with the inspiration for the name of his book, "The Audacity of Hope". As Obama tried to move away from Wright, the good Reverend got pissed off! The entire episode left a bad taste, and was basically just a harbinger of what was to come. Once the cameras started to roll, Obama presented himself as a particular kind of man; but so many questions were left unanswered. When Obama returned home from his Middle-Eastern and European "Apology Tour", it became obvious that President Barack Obama has some serious issues with the United States of America, and our history. I was disgusted by the Apology Tour, as I know enough of history to be aware that NONE of those communities deserved or required an apology from the United States. This nation has been feeding most of the world at one time or another since World War II. Other countries on the other side of the planet screw up their own situation, allowing despots and dictators to take over, and the blood of young American soldiers washed the way to new opportunities at freedom and Democracy. The only kind of American who would apologize for the actions of his country is a man who is ashamed of his country.
Let me try and keep this list to a minimum. Presidnt Obama ordered the Pentagon to pull our troops out of Iraq ahead of schedule. That schedule included large-scale, intensive training of the Iraqi military. No doubt ISIS sitting back in Syria watched as the U.S. troop-carrying C130s headed from Baghdad to Germany. As soon as the coast was clear, ISIS was back in Iraq, with an untrained, frightened, ill-preprared Iraqi military to stand in their way. The Iraqi Army deserted the battlefield outside Tikrit before a shot was fired, and ISIS picked up the booty of at least one billion dollars worth of U.S. military equipment abandoned by the Iraqis. What else makes my list? Obamacare is up near the top, but I don't think an explanation is required. I also disagreed with traditional marriage being morphed into something unrecognizable to millions of Americans, like my parents, who thought that they were entering into a pact that was not subject to amendments. We are currently stuck in the latest "state versus feds" debate, with the Obama Administration bound and determined to make unisex-only public bathrooms mandatory in the United States. The continued existence of ISIS also pisses me off just a tad. President Obama has the authority and the U.S. military has the capability of destroying ISIS in a matter of days, for all practical purposes. For half a decade we have known WHERE the enemy is, and HOW the enemy resupplies and reinforces itself. But Barack Obama refuses to commit the U.S. military in any way, form or manner that could be considered "large-scale". Instead, ISIS lives, and continues to seed our cities with operatives who will one day stand up to be counted. How is this possible? Have you taken a look at our immigration system lately? Obama manipulates figures to try and convince the average American that we are still deporting folks. If you want the truth just as a Customs or Immigration officer. As I type this blog post, Obama continues a fast-track policy of bring in Syrian refugees with little or no investigation. And lets not forget the abuse of our system of Checks and Balances. Obama has set a precedent: if you are President and you don't want to wrestle with Congress, just use Executive Action. I'm still not exactly sure how we went from three-to-five trillion in debt to twenty trillion in only eight years. And all he wants is to bring in more people for us to feed, and to replentish the coffers of one wasteful entitlement program after another with taxpayer dollars. The money poured down the toilet by this Administration on "new energy" research alone is astounding.
So- if I'm correct, and President Barack Obama has done a pretty awful job, then why, six months before he leaves office, does he have a fifty-two percent approval rating? Are we still stuck in the place that makes us believe any criticism of an African American President is racist? To be honest, I think many folks are of the mind to not criticize our first black President. We have a difficult past during which for many years human beings were treated worse than farm animals, and its a part of our history that we cannot ever allow to be forgotten. But what we have attempted to create with the experiment that is the United States, is a nation where all men and women are created equal. We are judged equally, we are rewarded equally, and hopefully we dispense charity equally. At least, that was the goal, wasn't it?

Recent rulings by the U.S. Supreme Court....

What a week to be a Conservative in the United States of America. The Supreme Court of the land, in back-to-back decisions this past week, obliterated the Constitution that is supposed to guarantee how rights are protected in our Republic. The first decision (6-3 in favor), which upheld each individual state's obligation to utilize and fund Obamacare, totally ignored the right of each state to govern its own commerce, a right which has been delegated to the states since the birth of our nation. The second decision, which at 5-4 was much closer, was even more perplexing. We live in the end of times for our own American Empire; I believe most people are coming to grips with that reality. We are collecting debt at such a rate that within the next decade or so, our ability to borrow on the international markets will be decimated. Ninety percent of this debt has been accrued during the last six years (and cannot been blamed on the military buildup and subsequent conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan). Simply put, the debt that is strangling the life out of our children and grandchildren's future, is because our of government's unwillingness to address and reign in entitlement spending. That includes the need for Social Security reform; a new, simpler tax code would be welcome as well, but all we get from this administration is lip service. Our media and politicians spent the week lecturing use about the issue of gay marriage. Why does ten percent (at most) of the population get to monopolize the attention of our nation in this manner? We have become the Republic that is truly led by the minorities. If I hear another sob story about a transgender person I'm likely to lose my mind. What did all of these trans genders do a century ago, or two centuries ago? Would General George S. Patton have been able to tell the Nazis, "hold off on your Bastogne Offensive; I'm having my wiener removed in the morning." And the pioneer family trying to homestead in Kansas in the 1870's, could the wife have woken up one morning and declared, "Cecil, I'm really a man. I'm leaving you and the six children to go live my true identity." Be that as it may, it has become the latest bizarre subject that the media and reality television are trying to force down our throats. Personally, I want all of these people to find happiness. Their body is theirs to do with as they please. Messing with the institution act of Marriage, though, impacts American couples back to 1776.
My mother and father were married in 1962. They entered into a union which had particular boundaries and guidelines. It excluded NO ONE. Every American had the choice to marry someone of the opposite sex, as long as consanguinity wasn't an issue. When people argue that this is an issue of inequality, it makes no sense. In fact, they want to CHANGE something that has existed in its present form for centuries. At least be honest about the effort! But its the truth of the matter that really burns my ass. Same-sex couples can enter into civil partnerships that give them the same rights as married folks, including those reasonable and sensitive rights relating to medical issues and inheritance. But no, they want to force everyone to recognize them as being in the same type of relationship as the millions and millions of Americans who have been married up to this point. Its about FORCING people to accept something. This week's Supreme Court ruling is supposed to protect individual churches from the obligation of marrying same sex couples if it is against the teachings of that particular faith. So explain this to me: if a baker in Colorado doesn't want to make a wedding cake for two lesbians because it conflicts with their religious beliefs, how is that different from the exclusion given the churches? It doesn't. That's the intention. It gives these groups another battle to fight, and I can guarantee you its coming. This won't end until every American has been forced to sign a letter of declaration that gay people are wonderful and that there is nothing wrong with their lifestyle. I for one believe that (most) gay people are wonderful, and I don't have a problem with their lifestyle. But I do have a problem with being forced to accept something that is against the teachings of my faith. What is it with the gay community anyway? If you want to be accepted as part of our culture and community, why not GIVE BACK for a change instead of always demanding things?
For those of us who call ourselves Conservatives, the funeral bells are tolling. And its our fault. We had a chance once, with the advent of the Tea Party movement. But we allowed the leftist media to create a false image of Tea Party members as Jim Crow Racists and Bigots. I have been to countless Tea Party meetings and I have yet to meet "a racist". What have I seen? A group of mostly older, middle-income folks who are worried about the economy and what will happen when they retire. I have NEVER heard a discussion about race or sexuality. But accordingly to the media (and even Howard Stern, who usually makes up his own mind but who has never taken the time to actually research the movement himself), the Tea Party is one step to the right of the Nazi Party. The next time you hear a lefty besmirching the Tea Party, ask them which Tea Party meeting they attended, and when? I guarantee you they will have never even met a Tea Party member. Again, we have lost the agenda and the bully pulpit. It is the left who are demonizing the issues and leaving people to consider their "guilt". And for whom? Where is their sacrifice? Sure they had a struggle, and just like all of us at one time or another in our lives, were treated like shit. It happens. But no one owes you anything. If you want to be part of the country and our history/traditions/culture, JOIN us, don't try and change things. Here is an important question: Has anyone seen even one study done on the marriage statistics of nations that have legalized same-sex marriage? Try Canada for example...want to guess the rise in the number of divorces? Or Holland? Or maybe the argument is, since straight people have already started divorcing at a fifty percent clip, why not just put a nail in that coffin?
Obama and the radical left continue to set the Agenda and run this country like a dictatorship. He has executive action and the Supreme Court, what else does he need to finish putting the last few holes in the hull of the U.S.S. Liberty? Again, our fault. I knew that electing Obama guaranteed that the Supreme Court would become rife with leftist activists, and what do you know? He has the court he wants, and we have the court we deserve. Just because we sent a message in the last election and chased just about every Democrat up for re-election from office obviously MEANS NOTHING. I have yet to see anything from this Congress except whispers about getting a Republican in the White House in 2016.
By the way, did you see the White House bathed in the lights of the Rainbow Flag? Those of you who oppose gay marriage, did you feel as if this government represented YOU at that moment? There are more German-Americans in this country than gay Americans....will the White House change the color to Black, Red and Yellow during German National Day? What about Mexican Americans? I can only assume that there are more Mexican Americans in the United States that gay Americans....when will the Green, White and Red of Mexico light up the Oval Office? Just curious. Time for me to get off of my pedestal; my sister and I are headed to the City Hall to get a marriage license. Why not? How exactly are they going to refuse us, in this "anything goes" society?

This won't end until every American has been forced to sign a letter of declaration that gay people are wonderful and that there is nothing wrong with their lifestyle. I for one believe that (most) gay people are wonderful, and I don't have a problem with their lifestyle. But I do have a problem with being forced to accept something that is against the teachings of my faith. What is it with the gay community anyway? If you want to be accepted as part of our culture and community, why not GIVE BACK for a change instead of always demanding things?
For those of us who call ourselves Conservatives, the funeral bells are tolling. And its our fault. We had a chance once, with the advent of the Tea Party movement. But we allowed the leftist media to create a false image of Tea Party members as Jim Crow Racists and Bigots. I have been to countless Tea Party meetings and I have yet to meet "a racist". What have I seen? A group of mostly older, middle-income folks who are worried about the economy and what will happen when they retire. I have NEVER heard a discussion about race or sexuality. But accordingly to the media (and even Howard Stern, who usually makes up his own mind but who has never taken the time to actually research the movement himself), the Tea Party is one step to the right of the Nazi Party. The next time you hear a lefty besmirching the Tea Party, ask them which Tea Party meeting they attended, and when? I guarantee you they will have never even met a Tea Party member. Again, we have lost the agenda and the bully pulpit. It is the left who are demonizing the issues and leaving people to consider their "guilt". And for whom? Where is their sacrifice? Sure they had a struggle, and just like all of us at one time or another in our lives, were treated like shit. It happens. But no one owes you anything. If you want to be part of the country and our history/traditions/culture, JOIN us, don't try and change things. Here is an important question: Has anyone seen even one study done on the marriage statistics of nations that have legalized same-sex marriage? Try Canada for example...want to guess the rise in the number of divorces? Or Holland? Or maybe the argument is, since straight people have already started divorcing at a fifty percent clip, why not just put a nail in that coffin?
Obama and the radical left continue to set the Agenda and run this country like a dictatorship. He has executive action and the Supreme Court, what else does he need to finish putting the last few holes in the hull of the U.S.S. Liberty? Again, our fault. I knew that electing Obama guaranteed that the Supreme Court would become rife with leftist activists, and what do you know? He has the court he wants, and we have the court we deserve. Just because we sent a message in the last election and chased just about every Democrat up for re-election from office obviously MEANS NOTHING. I have yet to see anything from this Congress except whispers about getting a Republican in the White House in 2016.
By the way, did you see the White House bathed in the lights of the Rainbow Flag? Those of you who oppose gay marriage, did you feel as if this government represented YOU at that moment? There are more German-Americans in this country than gay Americans....will the White House change the color to Black, Red and Yellow during German National Day? What about Mexican Americans? I can only assume that there are more Mexican Americans in the United States that gay Americans....when will the Green, White and Red of Mexico light up the Oval Office? Just curious. Time for me to get off of my pedestal; my sister and I are headed to the City Hall to get a marriage license. Why not? How exactly are they going to refuse us, in this "anything goes" society?
