Over the last month or so, as I've been driving through the Texas Hill Country where I live, I couldn't help notice all the "BETO" signs. I'm sure many of you have noticed them as well, and couldn't help but wonder who this "BETO" person is. He is Beto O'Rourke, a progressive far left politician from El Paso, with a resume that wouldn't get him hired as a dog catcher, no offense to the good folks out there working for Animal Control. Why have the Democrats become so demonstrative and vocal in their support for O'Rourke? Because they hate Republican President Trump so much that they're ready to support anyone who has a bit of charm and access to loads of "out of state" money. O'Rouke isn't running against President Trump, but Republican Senator Ted Cruz will do just fine as a proxy. The usually insignificant far-left progressive wing of the Texas Democratic Party takes most of its money and all of its marching orders from the leaders of the national progressive movement, which we've all become more familiar with in the last few months. These are the folks who are calling for the immediate elimination of ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) and the impeachment of President Trump. They are also the politicians who did there best to impugn the reputation of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, a fair an independent jurist with over 300 decisions, who is committed to honoring the Constitution. Kamala Harris and Cory Booker, both obviously showing off before the press and media as their supporters put together their respective 2020 presidential campaigns, made clear their feelings toward Kavanuagh. Their attempts to outdo each other turned into a circus, and insulted the dignity of a good American in front of his children. In my lifetime, Republican Senators have never behaved in such a manner, not when the unqualified Sonia Sotomayor was confirmed, and not when Ruth Bader Ginsberg came before the Senate Judiciary Committee. Its vital that when you see those "BETO" signs, that you understand that Beto O'Rouke is cut from the same mold, and will most certainly act in the same manner as Harris and Booker.
What exactly does it mean to be a Texan in 2018, and how do we want the world to see us? Maybe its just the company I keep, but almost every true Texan I know is a Conservative. Texans believe in the Constitution and limited government. We like to handle as much as we can on our own, without the interference of bureaucrats from Washington DC. For as long as Ted Cruz has been in the Senate, he has performed in a matter which should make us proud. I know he espouses my principles and values, and he has always been an outspoken advocate for the things that are important to me. If you ever have the opportunity to speak to one of the folks behind all the "BETO" signs, ask them what it is about this man that gets them so worked-up. Is it his across-the-board support for the policies of the Obama Administration, which had us mired in almost no-growth while building a national debt of over 20 trillion (8 trillion when Bush left office in 2008)? Is it his advocacy of this new world of sexual politics, identities and pronouns (I think I'm a "cisgender", but I'm exactly sure)? Where do you find Texans who think this way? I've already approached two people who live in the nearby small community of Blanco which is practically my home, and asked them about their "BETO" signs, and not surprisingly, they had no idea he was supportive of the elimination of ICE. Think about this, folks- the Democrats want to eliminate our border enforcement BEFORE they've given consideration to what should be put in its place. Or maybe they've fallen so left that they believe we no longer should have a border. Are they aware that Immigration and Customs Enforcement aren't only responsible for protecting our border, they also process Visa applications, process food and vegetables importation, and are vital in fighting drug smuggling and preventing terrorists from entering our state?
This election might actually be the most important in my life. Our economy is booming under President Trump, with unemployment numbers for all categories at the lowest levels ever recorded, and job opportunities at a record high. The Democrats, embarrassed by President Trump's economic growth at over 4 percent, won't talk about the true state of the nation. Its all about personalities for them, and the one they despise the most is President Trump. Conservative Texans must get out and vote in November, to keep Senator Ted Cruz and to remind the Democrats that all their out-of-state money has been wasted. The Demographics of our state may be changing, but I believe Texas is still solid Red. We can't let California money and left-wing propaganda make us part of their "coup in motion". Ted Cruz has been a tremendous representative for our state, and he has dedicated his life to protecting our values from left-wing encroachment. Its our job to make sure everyone who shares our perspective, gets to the polls in November. I trust Ted Cruz and I will fight to keep him as our Senator.

Voter in District 21 Will Not Be Fooled By Faux-Conservative Kopser

Now that the two parties have slogged their way through the runoff elections, voters in Congressional District 21 should have no difficulty deciding which candidate most reflects their values and concerns. On the Republican side, Chip Roy and his team have run a near-flawless campaign since last December, and at this stage, it would be unwise to expect any kind of major stumble. Roy has succeeded without being overly confrontational, which is important when running against other Republicans, and he benefits from his ability to convince voters that he not part of the "swamp" establishment. Forget the narrative the mainstream media has been pushing- District 21 remains a deeply red, conservative seat, and with Chip Roy on the ballot, the odds heavily favor a comfortable GOP victory.
Before the primaries decided the runoff candidates, Democrats were giddy about the existence of a massive "blue tsunami" which would be the precursor to a Democratic sweep in November. Not only did Republican voters come out more aggressively in the primary, they also out-voted Democrats in the runoff by roughly 10,000 votes. Democrats in DC must have breathed a huge sigh of relief when faux-conservative candidate Joseph Kopser won the primary over the self-described progressive, far-left Mary Wilson, who somehow managed to come in first in the Democratic primary. I imagine Kopser was obliged to spend some of that fortune he's raised that we've heard so much about. For many voters, Kopser remains a bit of an enigma. Fortunately, it shouldn't be difficult to discover what Kosper is all about by asking the following questions:
Do you support President Trump?
Do you support ending Sanctuary Communities?
Where do you stand on the NRA and the 2nd Amendment?
If Kopser answers any of these questions in the positive he will alienate his Democratic base. If he shines up his blue bona fides by talking about impeachment and the rights of non-citizens, he will have no hope of bleeding off any of the roughly 16,000 GOP voters who supported Roy's runoff opponent. Kopser finds himself in this difficult situation for the simple fact that District 21 remains solidly conservative. In order to stage an upset victory, Kopser must find a way to discredit Chip Roy. You can take it to the bank that he will attempt to label Roy as an establishment candidate. Kopser will claim that the support Roy receives from Senator Ted Cruz and a number of other beltway Republicans is clear evidence that Roy is part of the swamp. That argument failed in the runoff, and it will fall flat once again. Nothing about Chip Roy indicates establishment sympathies, and he's previously never run for office.
Kopser is one of a handful of former military personnel who have decided to run for elected office as Democrats. Its true that Kopser is a graduate of West Point and was awarded the Bronze Star for meritorious service; he has my gratitude and respect for his sacrifice. The fact remains, though, that active duty and retired military personnel constitute a very dependable GOP voter bloc, and Kopser's experiences won't impact that reality.
Irrespective of my confidence in Chip Roy's candidacy, I won't be taking anything for granted in this election. Its not just about winning, folks. Its about sending a message to DC and to the progressive left that Texas is growing more red by the day. I will be working to get Chip Roy elected to Congress, and I hope you will join me.

U.S. Olympic athletes Adam Rippon and Gus Kenworthy making it clear that they only want to represent the gay community.

In the Spring of 2017, when Donald Trump selected former Indiana Governor Mike Pence as his Vice Presidential running mate, Democrats and liberal Republicans immediately started digging for anything in Pence's past which could be used to score political points. I recall that one "discovery" in particular infuriated the all-powerful Gay and Lesbian lobby in the Democratic Party hierarchy. Someone re-reading every one of Pence's speeches, dating back thirty years to his time in the Indiana State Legislature, had uncovered a quote which they chose to interpret as an indication that Pence supported a medical solution to "curing" Homosexuality. (The speech was written in 2000). When asked about the quote, Pence claimed that it had been taken wildly out of context, and in all honesty, when I read it, I can understand his frustration. The radical left and the LGBT agenda has no place for accuracy and truth, as long as they can edit and infer their way into a media controversy. After a few weeks of dissemination by the media, the story basically disappeared, at least until President Trump announced the Vice President Pence would be leading the official U.S. delegation to the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea.
As soon as openly-gay U.S. Olympic figure skater Adam Rippon found a microphone pointed in his direction, he did his level-best to insert politics into the 2018 Olympic Games. Didn't we get enough of this during last year's NFL season? Will be obliged to endure special-interest group politics at the Olympics, disrupting Team America's effort to represent all Americans on the international stage? Rippon announced to the world that Vice President Pence did not represent him (Rippon), and referred to the above-mentioned questionable quote. Not to be outdone, another openly-gay U.S. Olympic athlete, skier Gus Kenworthy, released a photo on social media showing Rippon and Kenworthy in an embrace, and included the quote, "eat your heart out, Mike Pence". Kenworthy, who makes Narcissus look positively humble, loves to remind everyone that he and Rippon are "proudly representing the LGBT community". Please correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't U.S. Olympic athletes supposed to represent all Americans? Do you recall a U.S. Olympian announcing to the media that they "proudly represent Christian-Americans"? What about Vegetarians, or Libertarians? Cancer survivors? Wounded warriors? No, none of those. Instead, we get the ubiquitous LGBT community, which continues to tell us that Gays and Lesbians in the United States are in dire need of protective legislation, as we are lectured to by two Gay U.S. Olympic athletes, gay marriage is legal, every television program in prime time has at least one gay character, and for the second-consecutive year, a film about "Gay Love" is nominated for an Oscar. Am I the only American suffering from "LGBT-fatigue"?
My message to Adam Rippon and Gus Kenworthy is simple. I don't care about your sexual preference. I spent my life fighting for your right to be whoever and whatever you want, and I realize that its important for you to always be referencing your sexuality and sexual identity- but for the vast majority of us, it just not that important. You both have made it very apparent that you don't care about the non-LGBT population of the United States, which is your prerogative. The Olympic teams have been chosen, and you both are favored to win a medal. Regardless of the outcomes, though, you might be surprised at how few real folks have any interest in your achievements. The LGBT community continues to preach about inclusion, and yet it does everything it can to stand apart. Adam, if I'm wrong, and you do represent all Americans, say so. Ken, remind all of us back home what it is you miss about America, when you have to travel so much to compete professionally. Take a page from the playbook of the greats who have gone before you, and don't purposely alienate half of the United States with your political perspective. I want to root for you and for Adam, because you have been given the distinct honor of marching behind our flag, and wearing our colors, as representatives of the greatest country the world has ever known. If you don't agree with that statement, then you should have the personal integrity to step out, and let an alternate compete.
